Jeff Barratt is the chief executive officer at Skilled KC Technical Institute. His role as CEO is to develop an innovative model for non-degree, stackable credentials in highly employable and industry-driven entry level occupations for the Kansas City region.
Prior to this role at Skilled KC, he served as the executive director/CEO of Emily Griffith Technical College, an award-winning technical college in Denver, CO. Barratt has served in various leadership roles in higher education and workforce development over a 20+ year career and was recently recognized by the Colorado Workforce Development Council and the CO Dept. of Higher Education as a 2018 Talent Champion, for his leadership in leading innovative workforce programs, and in 2017, Barratt was honored in the Denver Business Journal Power Book edition, “A Year of Thought Leaders”, recognizing 52 business leaders from the metro Denver area.
He is a recognized speaker, consultant, and higher education leader on issues related to workforce development and training. Prior to his career in higher education, Barratt worked for 16 years in the manufacturing sector in Chicago, IL, and in his home state of Missouri.
